Parametric Construction
Working with classmates Jonny Noble and Sarah Hockemeyer in a Parametric Constructions Seminar, this project was carried out as an exploration of digital technologies and the process in which they interface with the manufacturing process. The design was to incorporate algorithms, a set of rules, which were to then be scripted of written into computer code using Rhino software. Parametric scripts allow for variable patterns at infinite iterations. Using two scripts, the design juxtaposes two patterns into a complete assembly forming both the skin and the structure. Layers of overlapping rings act as light filters while while triangulated panel systems reveal connections through the absence of seams.
